Supporting Documents
When you insert a clipart image, photo, WordArt, chart, or any other graphical element on a page it is consider an object. To edit an object, select the object with the mouse and right click ON the object. A menu will appear and there will be an option to Format the object.
I am noting this because many of the procedures that are outlined for one object can be transferred to another object. All object are inserted via the Insert > Picture menu.
Creating WordArtClick Insert > Picture > WordArt

Select the desired WordArt style and click OK.
Select the font, size and type the desired text. Click OK.
To further format the WordArt, right click the WordArt and select Format WordArt from the menu. You can double click the WordArt at any time to change the WordArt Style.

From the dialog box you can adjust fill colors and fill effects (gradients, patterns, images) and adjust the size of the WordArt.
The Layout tab allows you to adjust the text flow around the image and allows for more control of positioning. I would recommend always starting with Square. this gives better positioning control and allows you to drag the WordArt around the page. Note: You can right click on any image to reveal formatting options. All images will have a Layout tab and I would recommend selecting Square as a starting point for any image that you place on the page. If you insert an image and cannot move it as desired, change the layout to square to correct this issue.
Move the left mouse button over the image until the move symbol
appears. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the WordArt or image to a new location. Note: This procedure is used for all images and objects.

Move your mouse pointer over any of the corner handles until it turns into a double headed arrow. Hold down your left mouse button and drag the handle to resize.
Click Insert > Picture > From File. Navigate to the photo you want to insert and click Insert.

Before you insert Columns you should insert a Section Break. A section break tells Word that you want to format sections of the document differently. To insert a section break click Insert > Break. Select Continuous from the Section break types.
This will allow you to have text that spread across the top of the page and text that is in three columns for the remainder of the page.
