Recording a MacroClick Tools > Macro > Record New Macro

Give the macro a name (255 characters or less, no punctuation and no spaces).

Click Keyboard to create a keyboard shortcut for the macro. Press the desired keystroke combination; I would recommend that you use CTRL+ALT+Shift and a single letter. If the desired keyboard shortcut is in use the dialog box will display the current command/macro that the shortcut is assigned to. If the shortcut key is available, unassigned will appear.
Click Assign
and click Close.
At this point Word is recording every keystroke that you make. It is important that you plan the macro before you begin to create it because editing a macro is not the easiest process and it's usually easier to recreate it. Notice that the macro toolbar appears. Do not close this toolbar, one it's an indicator that you are recording and two you need it to stop recording the macro or temporarily pause the macro.
Perform the functions that you want to include in the macro.
When you are done click the Stop Recording icon.
Running a Macro Position your cursor where you want the macro content to be added and press the keyboard shortcut or click Tools > Macro > Macros and select the macro from the list and click Run.
From this dialog box you can also Edit, Create, and Delete macros.
